Two persons arrested for attacking with sharp weapon

Dimapur, Oct. 20 (EMN): In a delayed report, two persons have been arrested for allegedly attacking one Aremchang Imchen at Khopanala area under Chumoukedima Police Station with sharp weapon, “resulting in grevious injuries”.

Confirming the incident to Eastern Mirror, Nguneitso Rio, OC, Chumoukedima Police Station, informed that the incident happened at around 2-3 am on October 14.

He stated that both the accused, Kevechulo and Keneiletuo Zumvu, have been arrested and forwarded to judicial custody.

He also informed that the case is still under investigation.

Meanwhile, Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (Dayo) has condemned the incident, stating that the ‘dastardly act of the duo has no place in a civilized society’ and such behaviour need to be reprimanded as per the law of the land.

In a press statement, Dayo said that in order to foster unity among the communities, ‘we need to invoke Naga customary law to restrain such deviant elements that spread divison among the Naga family’.

Furthermore. Dayo wished the victim speedy recovery while awaiting swift delivery of justice from the law enforcement agencies.
