Two NSCN (K) cadres caught, says AR

The Assam Rifles have reportedly caught two cadres of the armed underground group NSCN (Khaplang) in Peren on August 15. The security force issued a press release on Tuesday informing that arms and ammlunitions have also been found from the cadres.
“During the wee hours of 15 August 2015, 18 Assam Rifles in conjunction with police representatives apprehended two armed cadres of NSCN (K), through a well executed operation and recovered assault rifle/pistol and huge quantity of ammunition,” the Assam Rifles said.
According to the security force, the apprehended individuals have been identified as self-styled “private” Muvoiso Chakesang alias Vireto, aged 28 years, of Khvja village in Phek district and self-styled “private” Noknglm Anok, aged 23 years, from Sangsa village in Mon district.
“During the search, one AK-47 Rifle with bayonet and magazine, one 7.65mm pistol with magazine and 85 assorted live bullets were recovered from their possession,” the security force stated.
“During spot questioning it has come to light that the apprehedees (sic) had defected to NSCN (K), with an intention to inflict anti national activity/sabotage against Indian Security Forces and Govt institutions,” the press release stated.
“The timely action by the Assam Rifles has been widely appreciated by the civil administration and local populace and helped the “Friends of the Hill People” for maintaining peace and tranquillity in the state of Nagaland,” it added.
