Kohima, Sep. 25 (EMN):
To incorporate psychological and Christian counselling workshops, seminars and training, Holistic Counseling and Training Centre, a government registered institute, has been established for the first time in Nagaland at Old Ministers’ Hill in Kohima.

This counseling centre, which is also affiliated with InSPA (Indian School of Psychology Association) and supported by Counsellor Council of India and Career Naksha, has been founded by two Naga women — Areni Tungoe and Botoli Achumi — both PhD scholars in counselling psychology.

“With a passion, commitment and goal to strive for a mentally fit community and a vision to make mental health facilities and training easily accessible to everyone, we have founded the centre,” said Tungoe, who is also a recipient of Prof. Erika Voigt Young Scientist Award in School Psychology.

Interacting with Eastern Mirror, she informed that they are planning to integrate with the government and private sectors for mental health training and facilities.

BrainWonders launched in Holistic Counseling and Training Centre

In order to provide a holistic service, the duo has also launched BrainWonders, India’s largest career counselling firm, in their centre in Kohima.

Tungoe, a registered counsellor under the government of India, informed that the firm is working with a vision to create wonders by identifying the skills and aptitude of infants through Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test (DMIT).

Informing that DMIT test is a scientific study of fingerprint patterns which help in understanding individual’s potential and personality type, Tungoe stated that it is based on an understanding from neuroscience, genetics, dermatoglypics, psychology and embryology, adding that a DMIT test assessment method has been formulated by scientists and medical experts.

Referring to sources, she said that the DMIT test has been accepted worldwide and also from renowned universities while medical experts and approved clinical experiments have confirmed that fingerprints provide accurate analysis of humans’ multiple intelligence and inborn potential.

Apprising how a DMIT test is done, she said the practical biometric analysis has no adverse effects and the test can be done for all suitable age groups starting from one-year-old children.

‘A detailed analysis helps to understand the innate potential while fingerprints are connected to the working of the brain cells’, Tungoe said, adding that it gives a piece of in-depth information about the strengths and weaknesses of a child, which in turn helps in planning the career path of the child.

Career counselling centres like BrainWonders have made the test accessible and approachable, she said,  stating that with these tests, one can be best guided into educational, personal and career success.

Meanwhile, it was also informed that services like individual counselling, couple’s counselling, group, family and career counselling are available while courses in counselling psychology, child psychology, industrial and organisational psychology including internship and research methodology are provided.
