KOHIMA — In what will bring a huge relief to the residents of Kohima, two multi-level car parking lots, one at NST Bus Station in the main town, and the other at Old Medical Directorate in PR Hill, will be inaugurated today, November 4.
Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri will cut the ribbon for the car parking at NST Bus Station, while Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan will inaugurate the facility at Old Medical Directorate, in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.
CEO of Kohima Smart City Development Ltd., K Theunuo, will present technical report of the project, while Advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Zhaleo Rio and State secretary J Alam will also speak at the event.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]It is said that more than 170 cars can be accommodated in the two parking lots at a time.
The facilities are among the 32 projects taken up by the Kohima Smart City Development Ltd. (KSCDL) under the Smart City Mission, an initiative of the Ministry of Housing and Utban Affairs, and the deadline for completion of the projects was extended to June 2024.
It may be mentioned the budget provision for the 32 projects stands at INR 550 crore on the basis of 90:10 (centretate) funding pattern.
