Two motorbike lifters arrested in Dimapur; NH-29 rockslide injures truck driver
Dimapur, June 10 (EMN): The Indian Reserve Police (IRP) personnel on foot patrol arrested two persons at West Yard area in Dimapur while they were trying to flee with a stolen motorbike in broad daylight on Thursday.
According to an update, the duo was apprehended after some colony members raised an alarm on noticing the burglars trying to get away with the stolen bike at the West Yard area.
The arrested persons are 30 and 37 years old, additional deputy commissioner (Crime) Relo Aye informed, adding that a case has been registered at the Sub Urban police station in Dimapur.
In another incident, one truck driver was injured due to a rockslide on NH-29 at around 9:30 am on Thursday. Officer in-charge, Peter Shurya informed that the rockslide hit the vehicle and injured the driver while the truck was transporting rock materials. The driver was taken to Rev. Zhaviu Khro Memorial Hospital for treatment and is said to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the highway has been restored for normal traffic, the Traffic police informed.
