Two more Covid-19 cases detected in Nagaland

Dimapur, Feb. 2 (EMN): Two positive cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Tuesday, taking the state’s tally to 12101.

This was informed by the minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom.

 ‘Two positive cases of Covid-19 were detected today (Tuesday) from Dimapur,’ tweeted the minister.   

According to the information provided by the Health department, Nagaland has 55 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 46 are asymptomatic, seven mild and two moderate on oxygen. The state has also recorded 11810 recoveries and 88 deaths, out of which 10 are ‘not Covid-related’.

In regard to district-wise distribution of Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 32 cases, followed by Kohima-17, Mokokchung three, Peren two, Tuensang one while Kiphire, Longleng , Wokha, Phek, Mon and Zunheboto have zero cases.

100 more healthcare workers vaccinated

A total of 100 healthcare workers were inoculated with Covid-19 vaccine in three districts on Tuesday alongside the Pulse Polio Immunisation drive.

The three districts were Kohima with 79 beneficiaries, Mon with 16 and Peren with five beneficiaries, taking the state tally to 5873.

State Immunisation officer, Dr. Ritu Thurr informed that the healthcare workers were vaccinated with Covishield vaccine.

Meanwhile, 39, 50, 156 health care workers were vaccinated across the country with Covishield and Covaxin vaccine. More than 100 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered across the globe, informed the official.

In the state, as per the cumulative report from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 1133 persons have been vaccinated in Kohima, 1114 in Dimapur, 706 in Mokokchung, 558 in Mon, 488 in Zunheboto, 476 in Phek, 458 in Wokha, 349 in Peren, 335 in Tuensang, 132 in Longleng and 124 in Kiphire.
