Two-month handloom training ends

EMN Dimapur, August 8 A two-month basic training on handloom concluded on August 7 at Kenlowa & Groups Handloom and Weaving Centre K Station under Tseminyu sub-division near NH-2 with a programme of thanks giving.Speaking at the occasion, the management coordinator, Kenneth Rengma appreciated the efforts of the handloom department in promoting handloom activities to nurture sustainable self reliance especially in the rural area. The training on handloom was conducted from June 10 to August 7 under assistance from the department. Two master trainers were deployed by the Department of Industries & Commerce.  Seven trainees have successfully completed the basic training and is now all set to start its functioning at the centre. Khillo G Rengma, convenor Village Vision Cell K Station and Rtd DEO who spoke on the occasion encouraged the local artisans to put more efforts and participate in such kind of activities which generates income and for self sustenance. Village council and church leaders appreciated the department and management for establishing such an income generating mini industrial centre in the village. The centre was established under the assistance from the Department of Industries and Commerce Nagaland under Handloom Group Approach in the year 2011.
