Two-lane road between Dimapur-Kohima to be completed by Dec. 15, officials assure Governor
Dimapur, Nov. 5 (EMN): Senior officials of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) have assured Governor RN Ravi of completing the ongoing two-lane road construction, along the four-lane Dimapur to Kohima stretch, before December 15.
The NHIDCL gave this assurance during a review meeting on the ongoing road projects convened by the governor on Thursday in Kohima, according to a Raj Bhavan press release.
“Projects reviewed included Kohima-Jessami road, Kohima-bypass road, Kohima-Mao road, Dimapur-Peren road and Changtongya-Longleng road. It was revealed that the work was slowed down due to rock sliding in several stretches of roads during the past months between ongoing Kohima-Dimapur four-lane project.
“The governor also reiterated the contractors to expedite the ongoing work and to achieve the target as assured by the contractors. The NHIDCL officials highlighted hiccups in certain district resulting in the stoppage of ongoing works for which the governor has asked the state government to resolve the matter at the earliest,” it informed.
The status and progress of NHIDCL road projects are available at Nagaland Raj Bhavan website, it added.
