DIMAPUR, AUGUST 11: The medical team of 12 Bihar Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) saved the lives of two road traffic accident victims on August 10.
Two persons identified as Mackey Golmei, aged 32 years and Jenjenlu Pame, aged 34 years from Majorkhul, MG Avenue, Imphal while travelling in a two-wheeler met with an accident as the bike hit a water bowser coming from the opposite direction. The accident took place at NH-2 close to Tulihal Company of 12 Bihar.
They were immediately brought to the Medical Inspection Room of the unit with severe injuries on forehead, shoulder and hands. Medical officer with his medical team immediately administered treatment to both the victims and thereby saved precious lives by immediately responding to the incident. The condition of the victims after treatment was stable and their relatives were informed about the accident and later discharged.
In another endeavour, the medical team of 12 Bihar saved the life of a snake bite victim on August 10. The victim named Bogi Md Abdul Rahaman, aged, 43 years, Village Bengun, Mayang Imphal of Imphal West district was bitten by a snake and was brought to the medical inspection room of the unit in critical condition and the medical team successfully saved his life.
Meanwhile, in order to maintain peace and prosperity in view of forthcoming Independence Day a “Joint Security Meet and Interaction” was conducted by 12 BIHAR Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR(South) at Patsoi in Imphal West district of Manipur on 10 August 2016.The meet was attended by Officer in Charge from Patsoi Police Station, village headmen, society leaders, local club secretary, gram pradhans, youth club presidents and Meira Pabies (Women) community. 12 BIHAR Battalion provided the platform to the villagers to discuss the security perspective of the area in view of forthcoming Independence Day and allowed the villagers to come up with suggestions to improve synergy between security forces and the local populace. Other issues pertaining to youth, medical issues and women empowerment were also discussed.
