Two female Naga artistes perform at PerformaAzioni International Festival
DIMAPUR — Two dancers from Nagaland, Mengu Suokhrie and Ethel Wangha from ‘The Nagaland Folkloric Group’ took part in the ‘Beyond Borders International Project’ at the 13th edition of PerformaAzioni International Festival held in Bologna, Italy from the May 24 to June 1.
According to an update from Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), the duo was invited by the Instabili Vaganti, partner of TaFMA.
Participants also came from United States of America, Venezuela, India and Tunisia besides the host country Italy. The two-week programme included cross-cultural performances in music and dances culminating with a final performance on the May 31, TaFMA informed.
It may be mentioned that Instabili Vaganti of Italy and TaFMA signed an MoU to work together in the field of music, art, dance and theatre.
The two Naga artistes could make it to the event through the vision of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and the assistances given under the Chief Minister’s Scholarship for Music and Art, it stated.
TaFMA expressed gratitude to the chief minister of Nagaland for the gesture, and also thanked Nicola Pianzola and Anna Doro Dorna for opening avenues and hosting the two artistes.
