Two-day training on MAA held in Tuensang

DIMAPUR — The department of Health and Family Welfare, Tuensang, conducted a two-day district-level training on Mother's Absolute Affection (MAA) at the CMO conference hall, Tuensang, on September 20 and 21.

According to a press release, Dr. Bentilo, medical officer at PHC Angangba, talked about proper baby positioning for breastfeeding, breast conditions, refusal to breastfeed and crying, expressing breast milk, and breastfeeding low birth weight babies during the session.

Dr. Mhathung, medical officer at PHC Shamator, led sessions on complementary feeding, foods to fill nutrient gaps, feeding techniques and strategies, growth monitoring and measurement, and using growth charts to monitor and take action on growth.

The training was attended by medical officers and nurses from 20 health units over the two days.
