Dimapur, May 13 (EMN): The two-day talk between the government of India’s interlocutor for Naga peace talks, AK Mishra and leaders of NSCN (IM) in Delhi ended on Friday with no breakthrough on the long-standing impasse.
A 10-member delegation of NSCN (IM) led by member of Collective Leadership, General (Retd.) VS Atem was in Delhi to hold talk with Mishra in an attempt to find a meeting point on the vexed Naga political issue.
According to a reliable source, Friday’s meeting began at 11 am and lasted for around two hours. However, it ended without a breakthrough like the previous day’s talk.
The source said that the date for next round of talks was not fixed but refused to divulge any details about the outcome of the meeting.
The NSCN (IM) delegation will leave Delhi on Monday, it was informed.
It may be mentioned that Mishra held hectic parleys with various Naga political groups and leaders of civil society organisations in Nagaland last month in an attempt to hammer out the differences for a settlement to the protracted Naga political issue.
During his week-long stay in the state, the interlocutor had an informal one-on-one meeting with the NSCN (IM) General Secretary and chief negotiator, Th Muivah at Hebron Camp before holding more rounds of talk at Chümoukedima Police Complex in Dimapur.
