Two-Day GST training-cum-stakeholders’ meet underway in Chümou
DIMAPUR — The Department of State Taxes, in association with the Goods and Services Tax Network, New Delhi, commenced a two-day GST refresher training-cum-stakeholders’ meet at Niathu Resort, Chümoukedima, on Thursday.
The two-day training consists of four sessions. It is being conducted by two expert trainers under the supervision of Sateshwaran Kalyanasundaram, vice president of Training Design and Delivery, GSTN, New Delhi.
The first three sessions, held on Thursday, were designed for the state and central tax authorities and covered issues related to the scrutiny of returns, assessments, audits, and refunds.
The fourth session, to be held on Friday from 1:30 pm onwards, is designed for trade bodies and business leaders in the state, along with the top 100 taxpayers from Dimapur and Chümoukedima zones.
The session will cover various compliance issues and new functionalities available for taxpayers on the GST portal.
The State Taxes department has also planned similar training-cum-meets in all the district tax offices, which will be organised soon to educate, sensitise, and empower taxpayers and other stakeholders in the state towards timely statutory tax compliance.
Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang will attend the closing function, accompanied by Kudecho Khamo, Advisor, Taxes and CAWD, along with ministers and MLAs from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Nuiland.
