Two dart players from Nagaland to compete at national c’ship

Kohima, Sep. 16 (EMN): Two dart players-Limatoshi and Vikehelie Suohu will be representing the state in the 4th IDF National Darts Championship-cum-2nd India Qualifier for Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) at Madras Race Club in Chennai from September 21 to the 22nd.

Addressing a press conference at Indian trial office in Jail colony on Monday, Burakum Ao, secretary of the Naga Darts Association (NDA), Kohima announced that two of its members have been selected to participate for the first time at the National Darts Championship in Chennai.

If the two national participants from Kohima win at the national tournament, they will be automatically selected to further represent the country at the Professional Darts Corporation, an international level dart championship to be held in London.

The 4th IDF National Darts Championship and 2nd India Qualifier for Professional Darts Corporation will take place simultaneously.

Limatoshi, one of the players who is also the president of NDA said that dart momentum in Nagaland is still at an infant stage.

However, the support, trust and faith from the members of the association and well wishers have encouraged the duo to proceed with confidence and compete at the national level.

The recently concluded 2nd Nagaland Open Dart Competition organised by Indian Trail have also motivated them, added Limatoshi while assuring to give their best in the upcoming championship in Chennai.

Meanwhile, Vikehelie maintained that they are practising and going with a mindset to do their utmost and do their best with every game at the tournament which would bring them to a higher level.

He said it’s going to be a tough fight with some of the national players at the tournament who have international experiences while expressing his enthusiasm and optimistic to play their best if given chances  to face the top seeded players .

David Solo, director of Indian Trial also gave a short speech while Vikhor Tepa and Rev. Razovizo released the official jerseys of the two players they will be donning during the tournament in Chennai.
