Four out nine Covid-19 positive cases recovered

Mokokchung, July 23 (EMN):
Two containment zones — Mary Mead Hostel campus at Impur and Amukloshi quarantine centre at FAC campus, Chuchuyimlang — have been lifted after all the returnees in the facilities were found negative after repeated tests.

In an update, the deputy commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir, stated that a total of 18 returnees lodged at the Mary Mead quarantine centre were discharged on July 23 for home quarantine with due approval from the state chief secretary as they were found negative after repeated tests.

It was also reported that three returnees from the Mary Mead quarantine centre, who were earlier tested for Covid-19, have recovered and discharged from the Covid Care Centre for home quarantine.

The Mary Mead hostel campus encompassing IBS building 1, 2, and 3, which was declared as containment zone on June 30, has been lifted with immediate effect, the order stated.

It added that since May 2020, a total of 144 returnees are lodged at various quarantine centres at Impur.

The Mokokchung district task force for Covid-19 and the district administration have appreciated the ABAM, Impur, led by its executive secretary Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger and the Impur Covid-19 task force led by its convenor Rev. C Wati Longchar, for their tireless effort in managing the quarantine centres with exemplary deeds during these extraordinary times.

Meanwhile, in another order, the district administration informed that Amukloshi quarantine centre at FAC campus, Chuchuyimlang, which was declared ‘containment zone’ on July 8, has been lifted with immediate effect upon the discharge of all the returnees for home quarantine after they were tested negative.

As per an update on Covid-19 status, the total number of detected positive cases stands at nine with five active cases. All the five active cases are symptomatic and their conditions stable, the Mokokchung district administration stated.

Report from the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, also informed that one patient at the Covid Care Centre, Mokokchung, recovered on July 23. The tally of recovered patients till date stands at four in Mokokchung district.
