Two BJP ‘mandals’ dissolved

Dimapur, Feb. 8 (EMN): Protesting the decision of its central office for denying the party’s ticket to some candidates for the forthcoming Nagaland assembly elections, the office bearers and party workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at 34rd Aghunato assembly constituency and the 44th Pomching assembly constituency have tendered their resignation and dissolved their respective units.
The BJP office bearers and party workers of 34 Aghunato AC has dissolved the office and resigned en masse in response to the BJP’s central decision over denying of its party ticket to their supporting candidate Hukiye N Tissica under the pretext of seat sharing agreement signed between the BJP and NDPP.
A joint press release issued by Kakiye Yepthomi and the general secretary Hevukhu stated that the party workers, most of whom have made untold sacrifices for the party since the past 4-5 years, have lost faith against the state’s party leadership and was aggrieved of the insult meted out to the grassroot party workers for its unjust and irrational decision of the pre-poll alliance made with the NDPP without taking their voice and consent both at the mandal level and the district level.
The BJP Aghunato party workers felt that the wrongful decision was made only to satisfy the selfish interests of some vested leaders and not for the interest of the party.
In the light of the above stated circumstances, the members have resolved to disassociate from the party and extends its unflinching support Hukiye N Tissica who had opted to join the NPF party under the leadership of TR Zeliang and Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu in general.
In a similar circumstance, the BJP unit under 44 Pomching assembly constituency has been dissolved in protest against denial of party ticket to its candidate Chingshak Konyak. The mandal has been dissolved to extend support Chingshak Konyak, who has opted to contest on NPP ticket.
The supporters were unhappy as Chingshak Konyak was denied the party ticket even though he had worked sincerely as district BJYM vice president. This was stated in a press release issued by Chingshak Konyak.
