Two accused with the seized liquor in Wokha.[/caption]
Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): Wokha battalion of the Assam Rifles, during a spot mobile vehicle check at Chukitong in Wokha district, intercepted a Mahindra Scorpio vehicle bearing registration No. NL 01 4142 with huge quantities of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
The Assam Rifles personnel have arrested two persons in this connection. They were identified as Kughato Sema (25), son of Kato Sema, and Viyato Sema (24), son of Ito Sema. They were both residents of Khahoa village, Dimapur.
A total of 1973 bottles of Mc Dowell and No 1 Celebration Rum and 234 cans of Kingfisher beer were seized from their possession. The approximate value of the seized liquor amounts to INR 8.36 lakhs.
The accused persons alongwith recovered liquor were handed over to Wokha police station for further investigation.
