Kohima, Aug. 16 (EMN): Twenty XI Viswema beat bottom side United 16 FC 2-0 to go on the fourth place of the ongoing 2nd Kohima Football League table at the end of the 10th round played here at Kohima local ground on Thursday. Twenty XI has now 15 points with four win, three draws and three losses in 10 matches. United 16 remained in the bottom of the table with 4 points.
Twenty XI dominated in the first half but failed to connect with the striker as they failed to break the deadlock in the first half.
Bashang of United 16 got the best chance to score but failed to finish as he hits the crossbar. Zevito Khizho of Twenty XI also hits the woodwork in the first half.
In the second half, United 16 was wasteful as they failed to convert their opportunities. Bashang was culpable for not scoring despite the numerous opportunities that came his way. United striker Temjenmeren had his share for not scoring as he shoots the ball directly to the keeper Neithongulie when he got the chance to score.
Viswema team got their lifeline when Metol Niekha scored in the 67th minute from a crossing as he control the ball inside the area and thumped home the first goal for Twenty XI.
Viho Kin, who came in as a substitute, scored after the goalkeeper Neithongulie Kuotsu feed him a long-range through ball to seize the opportunity and score in the 85th minute. Twenty XI with two goals lead defended the score at the end of the match to get the three points.
At the end of the 10th round, Sechu Zubza remained on top with 20 points on better goal difference (+13) and second place Ziekiezou SC with 20 points (+4), New Market in third position with 18 points.
