Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): The Tuensang Town Baptist Pastors' Union (TTBPU) comprising 20 affiliated Baptist churches, prayed at various junctions in Tuensang on August 16.
Altogether, 23 pastors from different churches prayed for the well being of the security forces, district administration, healthcare workers and other frontline workers on Covid-19 duty. They also prayed for God's healing upon the land and people of Tuensang and the Nagas in general, informed an update on Monday.
The prayer started from Eshou gate to various junctions and concluded at district civil hospital junction.
The TTBPU led by its president Abemo Humtsoe also carried out various activities in connection with Covid-19. So far, the union organised prayer walk and street prayer within Tuensang town on various occasions and visited quarantined centers for prayer and encouragement, it informed.
The union also extended its resources in cash and in kind towards the district administration and the people within and beyond Tuensang for natural calamities and Covid-19 related mission.
Apart from the donations towards the Health department, district administration, and security forces, the union in coordination with the district administration and the Chang Baptist Churches Association (CBLT) took up the responsibility for cooking and packing meals for the returnees at quarantine centres in Tuensang from April to July, it informed.
According to the union, besides other contributions, churches have voluntarily donated a sum of INR 13, 37, 340 for Covid-19 management. The TTBPU further assured to extend its support to the district administration in the fight against the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the union acknowledged all the pastors of 20 churches, church staff, deacons, and all believers for their contributions towards fighting the novel coronavirus in various capacities.
The union further encouraged all to continue to pray for the administration, healthcare workers, security forces and NGOs.
