Kohima, June17 (EMN):
In a major relief for the people of Tuensang district, one more TrueNat quattro machine was installed at the District Hospital on June 17 evening.

When contacted, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant informed Eastern Mirror that another TrueNat quattro was installed at the District Hospital in the presence of the medical team on Wednesday evening.

Ramnikant informed that the guidelines of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is being strictly followed for testing.

He also apprised that the first TrueNat quattro machine was installed at the hospital on June 10, where the testing for Covid-19 began on the same day.

"There are already two TrueNat quattro machines in our district," the DC informed, adding that they are able to test 30-40 samples from each system per day with a limited manpower manning the machines. He was confident that the machines would ramp up a capacity of 70-80 tests per day starting from Wednesday.

Ramnikant informed that the testing capacity of Covid-19 was slowed down to some extent owing to the ongoing issue between the National Health Mission (NHM) workers and government of Nagaland.

Ramnikant, however, affirmed that they are working on war footing to enhance the testing capacity to 70-80 tests per day starting from Wednesday.
