The Tsütuonuomia Students' Union held its 9th Literary Day-cum-Felicitation programme on Saturday at T Khel indoor stadium.
KOHIMA — Tsütuonuomia Students' Union (TSU) organised its ninth annual Literary Day-cum-Felicitation programme on the theme “Imprints of imagination” on Saturday at T Khel indoor stadium in Kohima.
The competitions held during the day included solo singing, essay writing in English and Tenyedie, creative writing, painting and sketching, elocution, debate, solo instrumental, spelling bee in English and Tenyedie, extempore speech and a quiz.
The valedictory guest of the programme, MLA of the 9th Kohima Town Constituency Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, recalled his personal struggles and shared how he earned his livelihood through jobs such as a bus conductor and selling newspapers.

He encouraged the students to have dedication and commitment and to keep their minds filled with curiosity to help them succeed in the future.
He pointed out that artificial intelligence is taking over and creating fake news and defamation. However, he stated that with the advancement of technology, students should start by doing what is necessary and possible so that they can achieve what they thought was impossible. He also reminded them to be kind and help people in need.
A short speech was delivered by Zakie Suohu, General Secretary of the T Khel Council. Sedevilie Suohu, Executive Engineer of PHED, was the inaugural guest.
During the programme, the HSLC Tsütuonuomia Students' Union Excellence Award was presented to Neilhou Belho, who achieved the 7th rank. The best-performing students in the HSSLC arts, commerce, and science streams were presented to Mhalezhünuo Sekhose, Vibeilie Vincent, and Keduoneinuo Evelyn, respectively.
The union also awarded gold medallists in higher education, PhD scholars, and successful candidates of competitive examinations.
