Tseminyu DPDB plans to make Tseminyu a Piggery District, forming a committee to train farmers and boost local pig farming.

DIMAPUR — The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Tseminyu was held at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall, Tseminyu, on October 18 with Jwenga Seb, MLA and chairman of DPDB, chairing the meeting.
According to an update, reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the board deliberated on the rehabilitation of landslide-affected families at the Veterinary Colony, Tseminyu.
After discussion, the board decided to provide INR 50,000 each to the four affected families under the State Disaster Management. On the advice of the administration, the Rengma Hoho also requested the MLA to assist the affected areas. The MLA assured full cooperation and support to the affected families.

Members also discussed and deliberated on the PowerPoint presentation made by Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch on the proposal to make Tseminyu district a “Piggery district”.
After receiving suggestions from members and line departments, the board decided to constitute a committee to frame action plans and provide training to farmers for the successful implementation of the programme.
Accordingly, the board formed a committee headed by the deputy commissioner as chairman, with allied departments as members. The District Industries and Commerce (DIC), Tseminyu, will present its activities in the next meeting.
