Tseminyu DISHA meeting reviewed development works, while DPDB backed proposals for a cultural complex and school aid.

DIMAPUR — The Tseminyu District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) held a meeting on June 29 at the DC’s conference hall, Tseminyu, with Lok Sabha MP and DISHA Chairman S Supongmeren Jamir, former MLA and State DISHA member Medokul Sophie, and Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Tseminyu, and MLA Jwenga Seb in attendance.
Speaking at the meeting, Jamir said the objective of DISHA was not to target any individual but to facilitate open discussions on departmental development activities.
He encouraged departmental officers to share both the achievements and challenges faced in implementing various schemes and projects in the district, according to a DIPR report.
The meeting reviewed ongoing development activities being carried out by different departments in Tseminyu district.
PowerPoint presentations were made by District Programme Officer, Social Welfare department, Sentimengla Pongener; Chief Veterinary Officer, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department, Dr. Kenalo Kath; and a representative from the Agriculture department.

The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, while the welcome address was delivered by Jwenga Seb.
The DISHA meeting was followed by the DPDB meeting, during which the board reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and discussed a proposal for the establishment of a Rengma Cultural Complex at Khwenphen.
The proposal, submitted by the Semkash Women Society, Tseminyu, was deliberated upon by the board, which agreed to recommend and forward the matter to the government for consideration.
The board also examined an application for grant-in-aid for Baptist Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu.
Observing that the school had consistently produced commendable academic results, the board decided to recommend the proposal for grant-in-aid, in line with the report submitted by the sub-divisional education officer (SDEO), Tseminyu.
