Dimapur, June 13 (EMN): The Tsarü Baptist Church of Sangtam, community has celebrated 100 years of Christianity faith at Tsarü village, with the executive secretary of USBLA, Rev. C Lima and ordained ministers, MLA Müthingnyüba Sangtam and district administration in attendance. A press release received on Wednesday
Speaking on the topic “Jesus the light of the community,” Rev. C Lima urged the believers to live as ‘matured Christians,’ be agents of change and continue to provide selfless service for the greater cause and be the light to the neighbouring communities.
Commemorating the event, candles were lighted by the grand children of the pioneers who brought the gospel to the sangtam community.
Head Barrick Tsarü, Thripongse and Pastor Chuchuyimlang Baptist Arogo T Lima extended greetings while opening act was perform by New Tsarü village.
Rev. Dr. Takatemjen, great grandson of Pangeryangla from Aonokpu whose ministry resulted in reaching the gospel to Tsarü, challenged the community to live in deeds not in years, and to retrospect one’s contribution to the community.
Principal OTC Yangli, Chumpongse Sangtam spoke on “Jesus the light of the Family.” He said darkness signifies backwardness, exposes the weaknesses of the family.
We should let go off our past glory and start afresh with Christ which is the only source of light,” he said.
