Tribal Cultural Festival begins with traditional dances, songs

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith Maram folk songs followed by traditional dances of Rongmei, Thangal and Thadou tribes etc, the three-day 3rd state level Tribal Cultural Festival began at the Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Chingmeirong in Imphal this morning.
Irrigation and flood control and printing and stationary minister Ngamthang Haokip was the chief guest while parliamentary secretaries Victor Keishing of tribal affairs and Vungzagin Valte of horticulture and command area development authority were the guests of honour of the inaugural function.Manipur chief minister O Ibobi Singh who was supposed to attend the programme as the chief guest of the inaugural function couldn’t make it due to his some other preoccupation.
Tribal MLAS, ADC chairmen and members of ADC also attended the opening function.
The tribal cultural festival, being organized by TRI under the sponsorship of Manipur government and Ministry of Tribal affairs, New Delhi will continue till January 29 was organized by TRI under the sponsorship of Manipur government and Ministry of Tribal affairs New Delhi.
