The fourth instalment in the action blockbuster series, which has earned over $1 billion internationally, received seven Razzie nominations - worst picture, supporting actor for Kelsey Grammer, supporting actress for Nicola Peltz, sequel, screen combo, screenplay and director
for Bay.
Vying with Transformers for worst picture are Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, Left Behind, The Legend of Hercules and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Worst actor nominees are Nicolas Cage for Left Behind, Kirk Cameron for Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, Kellan Lutz for The Legend of Hercules, Seth MacFarlane for A Million Ways to Die in the West and Adam Sandler for Blended.
In contention for worst actress are Drew Barrymore for Blended, Cameron Diaz for The Other Woman and Sex Tape, Melissa McCarthy for Tammy and Gaia Weiss for The Legend of Hercules.
Nominees for the Razzie Redeemer Award, a new honour that acknowledges Razzie winners or nominees that have gone on to bigger and better things are Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Mike Myers, Keanu Reeves and Kristen Stewart.
Rounding out the supporting actress Razzie nominees are Diaz for Annie, Megan Fox for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Brigitte Ridenour for Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas and Susan Sarandon for Tammy.
Joining Grammer, who is also nominated for Expendables 3, Legends of Oz and Think Like a Man Too, in the supporting actor category are Mel Gibson for Expendables 3, Shaquille O'Neal for Blended, Arnold Schwarzenegger for Expendables 3 and Kiefer Sutherland for Pompeii.
Besides Bay, worst director nominees are Darren Doane for Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, Renny Harlin for The Legend of Hercules, Jonathan Liebesman for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Seth MacFarlane for A Million Ways to Die in the West.
The screenwriters of Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, Left Behind, Sex Tape, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers earned worst screenplay nominations.
Joining Transformers in the worst remake, rip-off or sequel category are Annie, Atlas Shrugged: Who is John Galt? and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Vying with the robots, actors or robotic actors in Transformers in the worst screen combo category are Cameron and his ego for Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas, Diaz and Jason Segel for Sex Tape; Lutz and either his abs, his pecs or glutes in The Legend of Hercules; and MacFarlane and Charlize Theron in A Million Ways to Die in the West.
The "winners" will be announced the night before the Oscars on February 21 at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood.
