KOHIMA — The Family Welfare Unit of 2nd NAP Battalion, Alichen, in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) conducted a one-day training on scientific beekeeping for the personnel and families on July 8.
Vekhosa Chakhesang, commandant of 2nd NAP Battalion, Alichen, informed that the main objective of the training was to impart scientific knowledge and local expertise to the family members of the unit to general additional income.
He has thanked Sentiwapang, additional secretary of Agriculture and NBHM team leader, for making the programme possible.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=1]The resource persons of the training were T Chuba Longkumer, para apiarist; Temjenchuba Kichu, team member of NBHM; and Francis Kikon, team member of NBHM. The resource persons have spoke on scientific bee keeping, honey extraction, management and post harvest.
It added that different methods of beekeeping and technical aspects of tools were imparted to the trainees. After the training, many supporting materials and equipments were also provided to the participants.
The training programme concluded with closing remarks said by Kaino, deputy commandant of 2nd NAP Battalion, Alichen.
