Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): CAN Youth in collaboration with SDO (Civil) Kuhuboto, Anoka Assumi, and Kuuhuboto Town GBs’ Association organised a training programme on paper bag making in Adhoc Committee Office, Kuhuboto town, Dimapur, on May 30. The training programme, which was sponsored by the district dministration, Dimapur, was aimed at sensitising on the harmful effects of plastic use. The chief functionary of CAN Youth, Jenpu Rongmei, in his introductory speech, highlighted the importance of eco-friendly products like paper bags and cloth bags. He also urged upon the leaders and citizens of Kuhuboto to work together in minimising the use of plastic bags. Assumi shared his concern on excessive use of plastic and said that single-use plastic products will be banned with the support of the GBs and all the residents of Kuhuboto town. He also encouraged the trainees to strive for more production and marketing of paper bags individually or as a group of young entrepreneurs as an alternative for plastic bags.
