Dimapur, Sep. 21(EMN): A one-day training programme on Mission Antyodaya and People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) on Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) for ToTs under the department of Rural Development was conducted at SIRD Complex, Kohima, on September 21.
PPC is an effective strategy for ensuring preparation of GPDP in a campaign mode, which would be rolled out as “Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas” from October 2 to December 31. During the campaign, structured Gram Sabha meetings would be held for preparing the GPDP for the next financial year (2020-21).
Delivering an introductory speech, joint director of Rural Development, K Neibou Sekhose, called upon all the trainees to carefully read the guidelines and be thorough in the subject so that the state do not lack behind. He also urged them to be sincere and attentive during the training and learn thoroughly so that they could go back and train the staff and line departments in their respective blocks and districts.
Presenting an overview PPC on GPDP 2020-2021, state resource person, Dr. Juthsutho Phoji, senior lecture of SIRD, informed that the ministry of panchayati raj and ministry of rural development would jointly launch PPC. He stated that every panchayat should prepare comprehensive GPDP during the campaign period in convergence with line departments and flagship schemes such as MGNREGA, NRLM, PMAY (G), Rurban and SAGY covering 29 subjects of the XI Schedule.
The day-long training covered topics on solid waste management and GPDP with focus on achieving convergence conducted by RDO, John Wesley Magh, and the SPM (MIS) Mission Antyodaya Y Renvungo Murry. Rural Development Officer, Vilopi Sakhrie, presented a demonstration on GPDP portal and Mission Antyodaya App.
