Dimapur, July 20 (EMN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Mon, Aboi, conducted farmers training on management of gundhi bug at Langmeing village on July 19, with Subject Matter Specialist (Plant Protection), Martha Chakruno as resource person.
Gundhi bug is a serious pest of rice under upland and lowland condition in Mon district during the milky stage which results into chaffy grains. The resource person deliberated on the use of improvised plastic funnel with rotten crab inside the trap for the management of gundhi bug. She also imparted on rodent management.
A total of 35 farmers attended the training programme. Improvised plastic funnel crab trap and roban were also distributed to the participants.
