Training on horticulture concludes in Kpr

Dimapur, March 14 (EMN): Five-day training programme on horticulture crops, conducted by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema in collaboration with the office of the District Horticulture Officer (DHO), Peren has successfully concluded on March 10.

Shisarenla Aier, in-charge training, CIH spoke on the initiatives of CIH and thanked the state department for the timely action taken for coordination and successful conclusion of the training programme.

DHO Peren, Eyongol Natso, in his keynote address highlighted the importance of Oyster Mushroom, Kiwifruit and King Chilli which were high valued crops and could boost the income generation to the rural livelihood.

The main resource persons for the training programme were Senti Longchar (DK), Horti Officer Peren and Takosunep, Horticulture Extension Assistant. More than 250 participants were registered during the training programme from Old Tesen Village, New Tesen, Government Higher Secondary School Jalukie and Bright Morning Star Orphanage Home.

The participants acknowledged the organizers for imparting such beneficial training to them and also for the free mushroom spawn distribution.
