Training on ECCE and FLN in Longleng concludes
DIMAPUR — A five-day training for in-service government on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) was held at EBRC Hall in Longleng town from April 9 to the 13th.
The training was conducted with an objective to train the teachers on basic knowledge and skills about the ECCE curriculum slated for implementation in all the government schools starting from the academic session of 2024, stated a DIPR report.
Delivering the keynote address at the inaugural programme, the deputy mission director of SamagraShiksha, Kelhikha Kenye, highlighted the significance of the training and its alignment with the recent initiatives in ECCE and FLN. He emphasised on the importance of early childhood care and education and learning in the foundational stage.
He further encouraged the teachers to work with commitment and nurture the children by enhancing the learning competencies to achieve the early stage of learning.
At the valedictory programme, Moian, DMA assistant district coordinator of Longleng, encouraged the teachers to play active role to bring changes in the learning areas during the initial stage of child’s education. She urged the teachers to create new ideas and conducive atmosphere to enhance children’s interest in learning and enlarge their participation.
B Longting, PT of GMS Block, and Chuphe Phom, PT of GPS Noklangkong, shared their training experiences in a programme chaired by Moimei Konsen, ToT of EBRC Longleng.
Report stated that a total of 111 teachers from 40 schools comprising of one teacher each teaching at pre-primary classes and two teachers teaching from classes 1-5 along with newly appointed ECCE teachers attended the training.
The resource persons of the training were Metchei, P Chemphang and Wangnyei.
