Training on artificial insemination held at Jalukie

Dimapur, Sep. 11 (EMN): A three-day hands-on training programme on artificial insemination (AI) in pigs held at the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, concluded on September 9.

The training programme was inaugurated by the dean of the college, Dr. AK Sangwan and participated by four officials from the department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, Nagaland, namely Dr. Eyekhweshe Kepfoh, Dr. Yovino Mekro, Dizinangbo Rentta and N Ngauzia Elungheing.

An update from the college stated that the participants were taught on semen collection, estrus synchronisation and artificial insemination, as well as awarded with certificates.

The training programme was co-ordinated by, assistant professor Dr. Tukheswar Chutia. Other resource persons for the training programme were Prof. C Veerapandian, Prof. MO Kurien, Dr. N Bhumapati Devi and Dr. Iluheibe.
