Dimapur, May 27 (EMN): A state-level training of trainers (SLTOT) for the 7th Economic Census 2019 was held at Hotel Vivor in Kohima on May 27. During the inaugural programme, Asst. Director NSSO, Chinneivah Haokip, ISS said the census would be conducted in a span of three months starting from June and will cover the entire nation including organised and unorganised sectors.

“In this Census, we will be using an ICT platform developed by CSC under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, that means the validation, super scrutiny and scrutiny by supervisors will be done through the mobile apps itself, therefore in less time, we will be able to publish the figures,” said Haokip, according to an update from DIPR.

She said that CSC is the implementing agency in developing the platform, NSSO and the Directorate of Economics and Statistics will assist with capacity and manpower. She added that obtaining quality data should be most vital considering the inexperienced field workers under CSC.
