Training for sector magistrates held in Mokokchung, Wokha

DIMAPUR — As part of preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024, a one-day training session for the sector magistrates was held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office in Mokokchung town on Friday.

Chumlamo Humtsoe, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Mokokchung, delivered the welcome address, while Renben Mozhui, assistant election officer (AEO) of Mokokchung, gave a short briefing on the functions of sector officers to ensure smooth and efficient electoral process. He also dwelt on the necessity to organise awareness programmes on EVM demonstration and SVEEP, stated a DIPR report.

Report informed that it was the first phase training of the sector magistrates for the upcoming election.

Mesutoba Ao, assistant professor at Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, and Wabang Mollier, PGT at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School, Mokokchung, were the master trainers.

In a similar programme, training of sector magistrates, sector commanders and flagging off of EVM demonstration van was held in the conference hall of the deputy commissioner of Wokha on Friday.

The deputy commissioner and district election officer of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, flagged off the EVM mobile demonstration van and explained that the objective was to raise awareness and confidence on the working of EVM machines.

Briefing the sector magistrates and commanders, the DC appealed to check and ensure minimum facilities like toilets, water supply, electricity and rams in all the polling stations and urged them to work in co-ordination with the respective BLOs. He reminded them to prepare a proper route map to enable them reach the polling stations from their dispatch centre and create awareness about C-vigilance in all the polling stations. 

He also informed about the facilities of voters registration and other queries and grievances to be generated through Wokha Saathi Chat box, where one can contact the number 700557723 for any query and about the availability of helpline number 1950.

He further reminded all concerned to give their best and do their assignment with outmost sincerity for the success of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

Hands-on EVM demonstration was also conducted for the sector magistrates and sector commanders.
