Training for polling personnel held in Pughoboto

DIMAPUR — The Office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and District Election Officer (DEO), Pughoboto, conducted Phase-I training for polling personnel for the upcoming Lok Sabha election at the Town Hall and DB Hall in Pughoboto on Wednesday.

Speaking at the opening session, ADC and DEO Pughoboto, Tiameren Chang, stressed the importance of fulfilling assigned duties and enjoying the electoral process, according to a DIPR report.

Polling personnel were trained on their duties, responsibilities, and security arrangements at the polling stations by master trainers N Thungbemo Humtsoe and Khuvili Wotsa. They also provided training on various polling procedures, webcasting, maintaining the secrecy of votes, and other voting procedures.

Master trainers Esther and Khekavi Kiny also conducted hands-on training on EVM setup and connections, conducting a mock poll, sealing EVMs/VVPATs with different seals, commencing voting, closing and sealing the poll, and handling defective EVMs.

The training was imparted to polling personnel, including the presiding officer, polling officer I, polling officer II, and polling officer III.
