Training for poll personnel held in Peren, scheduled for Phek

DIMAPUR — The second round of training for all the polling personnel of Peren took place at Peren Town Hall, the Peren Town Women Welfare Organisation hall, and the Old Catholic Church building on Tuesday.

According to a DIPR report, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Peren, Japhet Woch, provided a briefing on the occasion on how to handle situations at their respective polling stations. He emphasised the significance of the election process within the polling station and encouraged the polling personnel to be vigilant and attentive, ensuring they do not overlook even the smallest details of the process.

In the second round of training, the master trainers included Albert, Kekruneinuo Magi, Sentirenla Jamir, Igong N Ipuing, Lemtsaliba Jing, Petekhrie-o Sekhose, Zekopethele, Heiramchube LoehiseHulin, and Ch. Kangba Andrew.

Meanwhile, the ADC and assistant returning officer (ARO) Phek, Ruopfukuotuo Noudi, notified that the second phase of training for all categories of polling personnel in Phek will be held on April 10 and April 11 at Govt. Higher Secondary School, Phek town.

The first batch of training for presiding officers and first polling officers (serial numbers 1 to 130) will be held on April 10 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the second and third batches will be held from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

On April 11, the second batch of presiding officers and first polling officers (serial numbers 131 and above) will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the second and third polling officers will be held from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

It further directed all personnel drafted for polling duty to attend the training without fail and also notified that any person found absent or abstaining from the training will be dealt with strictly under relevant sections of the Election Laws.
