Dimapur, Oct. 8 (EMN): Considering that differently abled citizens can also learn some art and lead a life of dignity, Grace Society Community Based Rehabilitation Forum (CBRF) organised a vocational training on bamboo craft for ‘Leaders of Disable People’s Organisation’ at the Grace Society, Changtongya town office campus on October 5.
Altogether 18 leaders from different village disable people’s organisation (VDPO) attended the training and learned how to make different bamboo crafts products like tray, pen stands and curtain clips. The participants were trained by resource person Salonger from Mongsenyimti village, who is a recipient of Samarthya Award 2017 from the project area under CBRF.
The training was conducted according to CBRF planner with the objectives to train the DPO leaders how to make different products with the available raw materials found in their area and become self-reliant thereby contributing to the society as well as enhancing their family’s income.
