Mokokchung, November 20: The first ever mountain biking competition dubbed Mokokchung XCE or Mokokchung Cross Country Eliminator, will be organised by Trail Hounds Cycling Club, which is slated to be held on December 10 at FAC Ground, Chuchuyimpang village,about 5 kilometres from Mokokchung town.
Interacting with media persons, event convenor Atoba Longkumer stated that the event would be held strictly on International Cycling Union (UCI) cross country eliminator format.
While elaborating on the format of the race, he said that four riders would compete against each other in each heat and the two fastest riders would move to the next round while the two slower riders would be eliminated.
He also added that the competition will be open to all interested cyclists and would be held in two categories namely, Elite Men’s Category and Open Junior Category.The necessary information, rules and procedures can be downloaded from the Trail Hounds Cycling Club’s Facebook official page or contact the competitors relations officer at 8257062268 for further queries.
The 1200 meter Mokokchung XCE circuit would feature dry and wet dirt tracks, obstacles courses, jump sections, rock garden and surfaced road.
