In view of the upcoming Hornbill Festival 2014 and considering the critical traffic density and vehicle velocity in the state capital, Kohima Traffic Police will undertake traffic enforcement drive within Kohima town from November 27 morning to prevent congestion and to keep traffic flow stable in the town during the said festival.
As informed earlier, SDPO Kohima Atu Zumvü, in a release today, asked the house owner(s) whose building construction materials are dumped beside the road to remove them before the drive is carried out. The police have also asked the owner(s) of unattended/off-road vehicles which are parked along the road to shift them to a convenient place before the traffic drive.
Any unattended/off-road vehicle(s) and building materials found besides the road during the drive will be confiscated and towed by the traffic police and their owners will be challaned as per Police Act and M.V. Act.
The Kohima police has urged all concerned to extend their full cooperation to traffic personnel on duty.
