Dimapur, Oct. 28 (EMN): Due to blockade of NH-29 by mudslide and ongoing restoration works at multiple locations, Kohima police has directed heavy vehicles, including those transporting essential commodities, proceeding towards Dimapur, and vice versa, to take the route via Kohima-Zhadima-Phekerkriema-Niuland.
A statement from the district police on Monday informed that one-way traffic will be enforced on this route. For heavy vehicles proceeding from Kohima to Dimapur, the route will be opened from 12 o’clock (midnight) to 6 am; and for those travelling in the opposite direction, it will be from 12 noon to 6 pm.
“All passenger buses shall take the route from Kohima-Tsiesema (10th Mile)-Peducha. All light vehicles proceeding towards Dimapur and vice versa shall take the route from Kohima-Jotsoma-Khonoma-Mezoma-Zubza,” it informed.

Dimapur police also issued a traffic advisory due to temporary disruption on NH 29. All Kohima-bound LMVs have been directed to take the alternate route via 7th mile new DC office-Shokhuvi-Razaphe-Mhaikam-Pimla- Mhainamtsai- Jharnapani/Medziphema.
Local trucks and buses proceeding from Dimapur to other districts of the state via NH-29 are to use the Patkai Bridge (Chathe River Bridge)-Seithekima-Niuland-Zhadima route.
The entry time of local trucks into Dimapur town from Dillai and Newfield check-gates has been relaxed from 12 noon to 6 pm.
