Kisama, Dec. 6 (EMN): Traditional fire-making competition was held on day-six of the ongoing Hornbill Festival here at the Amphitheater, Kisama.

All the nine participants were given a candle each to light it once the fire ignited.

While some of the participants were able to put up smoke, none of them could ignite a fire to light the candle.

The materials used to ignite the fire included wooden log, fibre (mostly of bamboo) and sawdust.

The competition is held every year to showcase the indigenous way of making fire. It was organised by the department of Art and Culture.
