Dimapur, July 24 (EMN): Barely 24 hours after it announced a partial lockdown of the city, the Dimapur district administration on Friday ‘updated’ its previous order and declared a total lockdown for a period of eight days, from July 26 to August 2.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Dimapur district task force led by the deputy commissioner (DC), Anoop Khinchi.
Under the new and updated guidelines, all categories of shops, except pharmacies, have been ordered to remain closed.
“All public movement is prohibited, except medical emergencies. Movements of all types of vehicles are prohibited, except for medical emergencies. Inter-state and inter-district movement of all the goods vehicles will be allowed with proper safety measures in place,” according to the order.
Exemptions
However, the functioning of the offices of the district administration, police, security forces and medical and essential service providers like treasury, fire & emergency service, home guards & civil defence, prisons, animal husbandry & veterinary services, airport authority of india & airlines, district courts, life insurance, PHED, power, NIC, DIPR, food & civil supplies, social welfare, IT &C, municipality/town council, AIR, Doordarshan, central institute of horticulture, Medziphema, ICAR Jharnapani, agri & allied departments, postal services, pharmacies, medical clinics, nursing homes, BSNL & private telecom services, internet service providers, media, LPG, banks with minimal staff and ATMs, petroleum outlets, quarantine centres, persons/patients with medical emergencies and those person/individual involved in authorised Covid-19 related duties are exempt from the purview of the lockdown measures.
The deputy commissioner warned that violators of the lockdown rules will be penalised as per relevant sections of law.
