Total Lockdown Not Being Applied

My attention as a concerned citizen is alerted by the Government’s decision to impose Total Lock Down in the entire State of Nagaland from 14th May to 21st May 2021, and an extension till 31st May 2021, to solely curb the spread of Covid-19 disease.

Here, my concern is drawn on the usage of the phrase “total lock down”- the term meant to restrict peoples’ movement. And by ‘total’ the meaning means: complete, entire, absolute etc. However, an order with an exception allowing dozens of departments and others for movements was passed by Nagaland Government and down with Authority to grant permits for movements; yes, there are mandatory departments and exigency, yet, the term ‘total lock down’ distantly suits our advocation.

It is no wonder, the shops and peoples movements are fully in gear from 6:00AM to 12:00 Noon,  and it is frightening to see that we are trading the disease rather than curbing it, because a person is permitted by law to be with others in queue, when total lock down is in force.

Hence, the call for subsequent total lock down may be sincerely look into encompassing peoples cooperation and  the usage ‘total’ be applied and put into force as per proper definition of the dictionary. So as to put down the dreaded disease Covid-19 from our soill in toto.

Thanking you.
