Apart from some models, the segment experienced significant growth compared to the same period last year. The Hero MotoCorp Splendor was the best-selling two-wheeler, with an impressive sales figure of 3,42,526 units in May 2023. It achieved a remarkable year-on-year growth rate of 30.6%, solidifying its position as a favourite among Indian customers.
The Honda Activa, a well-known name in the two-wheeler segment, secured the second spot with sales of 2,03,365 units. Despite a decrease compared to the previous year, it still achieved a growth rate of 36.1%, indicating its enduring popularity.
Bajaj's Pulsar motorcycle claimed the third position, exceeding expectations with sales of 1,28,403 units in May 2023. Its remarkable growth rate of 85.4% showcases the strong demand for this sporty and stylish bike.
Next is the Hero HF Deluxe, which secured the fourth spot with 1,09,100 units sold, despite experiencing a slight decline in sales. The company aims to regain momentum and improve sales in the coming months.
Honda's Shine occupied the fifth position with 1,03,699 units sold. Although it experienced a minor drop in sales, the Shine remains a popular choice among consumers.
The TVS Jupiter maintained a steady performance, holding the sixth position on the list with sales of 57,609 units. Although it faced a small decline of 3.3% in sales, the scooter continues to attract customers.
The Suzuki Access witnessed substantial growth, reaching sales of 45,945 units in May 2023. This model experienced a noteworthy growth rate of 28.6%, indicating its increasing popularity in the market.
Bajaj's Platina showcased an exceptional growth rate of 143.1%, becoming one of the top performers. With sales of 42,154 units, it secured the eighth spot on the list.
The TVS Apache, a renowned name in the performance motorcycle segment, achieved sales of 41,955 units in May 2023. The model exhibited a commendable growth rate of 55.1%, highlighting its appeal among bike enthusiasts.
Closing the list, the TVS XL recorded sales of 35,837 units, experiencing a slight growth rate of 1.9%. This durable and practical model retains its popularity in the market.
The Splendor, Activa, and Pulsar were the top performers, while the Access, Platina, and Apache also demonstrated impressive growth. On the other hand, the HF Deluxe, Shine and Jupiter showed a slight slump in sales.
