Tokhü Emong begins with inauguration of stalls
WOKHA — The premier festival of the Lotha community ‘Tokhü Emong’ under the aegis of Lotha Hoho (LH) began on Thursday with the inauguration of stalls at Wokha public ground. The stalls were inaugurated by the chairman of Lotha Hoho, Mhondamo Ovung.
Speaking at a brief programme, Ovung stated that stalls are also part of the annual programme during Tokhü Emong in order to provide a platform for local entrepreneurs to exhibit their products. He also informed that Lotha Hoho would celebrate its 100th anniversary on November 6.
He said that Lotha Hoho, an apex body of the Lotha community, is working solely for the interest and welfare of the Lotha community.
Informing that Tokhü Emong would be celebrated from November 2 to the 7th, he called upon the people to celebrate and enjoy responsibly.
Renpithung Kikon, convenor of stalls committee, briefed on the stalls.
Lichumo Tsanglao, pastor of Elumyo Baptist Church, said the dedicatory prayer, while Lirhonthung E Kithan chaired the programme.
