Tokheho urges to curb encroachment on NH

[caption id="attachment_82122" align="aligncenter" width="500"]dimapur-dpdb-meeting Minister for PHE, Tokheho speaking at the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board meeting on November 5.[/caption]   Dimapur, November 5: Expressing concern over encroachment of roadside along the National Highway by different individuals thereby leaving no reservation for future developmental activities, minister of PHED Tokheho Yeptho underscored the need for some corrective and precautionary measures. Addressing the members of Dimapur District Planning and Development (DPDB) during its meeting on November 5 at the Training Hall of Taxes Department, Tokheho asked the administration not to issue any patta without proper verification and not allow any construction works on the roadside without the permission of the administration to ensure that enough reservation is kept for future developmental activities. The minister also said construction of deep tube well by bottling industry besides many households opting for tube wells may cause problem in the future. Having observed that many households with ring wells are not getting enough water, he suggested some restrictions to be imposed on excessive ground water uses as precautionary measures in the interest of public. In this regard, the Board resolved to set up a committee to verify the matter. Meanwhile, the board approved registration of The Acts Institute; Lutshumi Union, Dimapur; Barefoot Welfare Society, Diphupar village; Charis Society, Padumphukuri; Wosenro Self Help Group, Diphupar; Bethlehem Welfare Society, Aoyimti village; Kuki Pensioners’ Society Chumukedima; Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Nagaland State Branch; and Octet School of Music, Power Point, Thahekhu village. During the meeting, permission to open St. Joseph’s Global School with CBSC syllabus and issuance of NOC to CBSC board at Virgin town, Khekiho Zhimomi Road, Ikishe Model Village, Dimapur; and Upgradation of Montessory Nursery School, Zeliangrong Village, Dimapur, was also recommended. Departmental activities were presented by Agriculture and Horticulture department.
