Tobu public offers Shurhozelie ‘unopposed’ assembly seat in lieu of district upgrade

Dimapur, May 1 (EMN): After meeting the chief minister of Nagaland, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu on April 29 last, members of the public of Tobu area representing all the villages under Tobu sub-division met C L John, minister RD and REPA, and held a meeting at his residence in Dimapur.
This was informed through a press release issued on Monday. “In the meeting, the public leaders apprised the minister of problems and inconveniences faced by the Tobu-Moka public under the present administrative set up. C L John acknowledged the everyday difficulties faced by people of Tobu-Moka and said that the priority in infrastructural development was long felt for Tobu sub-division.
“Regarding the demand of Tobu district, he believed that the present DAN government led by Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu will take up the issue seriously and he shall be in favour of any decision taken by the wisdom and leadership of Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu,” it stated.
According to the statement, the public leaders of 55 A/C Tobu also conveyed to the minister concerned that in order to ensure the stability and continuity of the present DAN government, the public of 55 A/C Tobu along with Naiba Konyak, the sitting MLA of 55 A/C Tobu, has decided to vacate the 55th Legislative Assembly seat to allow Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu to join the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly unopposed from 55 A/C Tobu.
“The Tobu public requested the DAN government to consider the offer seriously in order to allow the smooth functioning of the government without any hiccups and the offer shall be in the interest of the present DAN government and the people of Nagaland in general”, it stated.
