Tobu becomes the first LED village in Mon district

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 3: Tobu village became the first Light Emiting Diode (LED) village in Mon district on November 2, with the successful launching of the Unnat Jyoti by Affordable LEDs for All (UJALA) scheme by Temsuchuba Jamir, EAC Tobu headquarter. Speaking at the launch programme, EAC said the scheme aims to promote efficient use of energy at the residential level and enhance awareness of consumers about the efficacy of using energy efficient appliances. He also informed that the scheme initiated by the Administration of Tobu sub-division plans to cover more villages under the sub-division in the future. He also notified that under this scheme, consumers can buy high quality 9W LED bulbs at a discounted rate of Rs. 70 against the market price of Rs 350.More than 600 LED bulbs were distributed to the village at the Council Hall. The programme was chaired by BDO Tobu W. Moba, while technical report of the scheme was presented by EAC Monyakshu, Sentilong Ozukum.
