Kohima, Aug. 18 (EMN): Naga United Village unit of the Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centre (AB-HWC), Dimapur, organised a tobacco-free campaign in the village on August 17.
An update from AB-HWC emphasised on banning of tobacco by the State Tobacco Control Cell. It reiterated that during Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, it is even more hazardous to chew tobacco and spit in public as it could increase the spread of virus.
Further, it appealed to the village authority to continue supporting the banning on tobacco in the village.
During the campaign, the organising team visited all the shops in the village and spread awareness on health hazards of tobacco. It also distributed banners and flyers to shopkeepers.
